Happy New Year

2012 is upon us already! One minute you're getting ready for Christmas, and there it was gone!

Disco still going pretty well, despite a couple of minor issues.

We're approaching 3000 miles since the head gasket was changed, and glad to report no oil in the water or vice versa. That's right, mileage now at 150200.

Current issue is with an - as yet - unidentified noise. When accelerating hard through the gears / or uphill, there's a noise somewhat like someone drawing breath. Yesterday i had a good look round, but nothing jumped out at me. During the course of my investigations I topped up both the transfer box and front diff with approx 0.25L each of EP90.
Also found the 4 bolts that secure the flange on front of propshaft to the diff were all loose. These were tightened as good as possible with a 15mm spanner, despite finding out later the actual size is 9/16". Note to self : Buy some imperial spanners !
Also, there appears to be a lot of adverse movement in NSF wheel bearing.

Thanks to the DOC users forum, a fellow member has agreed to help me out with some repairs. This was scheduled for today, but bad weather forced us to reschedule. I'll update soon.

Thats all today.
