When i started working on my Disco, the first thing I noticed is the scale of everything. Take the diesel filter for example, it's about the size of a pint glass! And for the oil change, you need a whopping 6.9Litres of oil, i.e. buy 2 x 4.5L containers! That said, the parts so far have been cheap, so not making such a big dent in the wallet. An oil and filter change on my old Mk3 Astra would have cost me about the same. The next job on the cards is the Stop Solenoid. For this I've had to buy a 24mm spanner (purchased on ebay for a few quid) which will be ground to nothing when it arrives in the post, because there is hardly any room to work!
